The Waco Police Department said a man was arrested after he threatened his estranged girlfriend with a gun and injured her head. The incident happened on Oct. 18 in the 1900 block of 22nd St.
Police said the victim was still living with her estranged boyfriend, Ve’correa Stanley, when she was assaulted.
They got into an argument, and Stanley injured the victim’s head and pulled a gun on her. He also took her phone, so she wouldn’t be able to call the police.
She was able to escape and call authorities.
When authorities arrived on scene, Stanley was gone. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a previous conviction and interference with an emergency phone call.
He is in the McLennan County Jail with bonds totaling $110,000.
