Killeen organization in need of winter clothing donations

Posted

With the holidays just around the corner, Families in Crisis, Inc. is gearing up to help survivors of family violence and sexual assault.

The nonprofit organization is in need of rain gear and winter clothing donations.

"A lot of times when someone leaves a domestic violence situation, they don't have a whole lot of time to grab everything. So, on a day like today for example when the weather's warmer, if a person were to leave, they might only leave with the clothing that's on their backs," said Suzanne Armour, Families in Crisis, Inc. director of programs.

The team is accepting donations of rain boots, umbrellas, raincoats, winter gloves, winter caps and scarves.

The organization has a 65-bed facility in Killeen and a 15-bed facility in Temple.

If you would like to donate, they ask that you call 254-634-1184 or drop off your donations at their facility located at 1305 E Rancier Ave.
