A man was arrested and charged on Thursday after police say he was found in a home during a burglary in progress.

According to the affidavit, on June 7, Killeen police were dispatched to Stonegate Mobile Home Park at 101 E. Elms Road in reference to a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, they saw an open window at the side of the mobile home, as well as a shattered glass door. The front door was open, so officers entered the home and found a man lying on the floor face down.

It took officers multiple attempts to wake the sleeping man, but he was later detained. Next to the man was a Heritage Revolver.

The man identified himself as Deon Barton but was later identified as 31-year-old Antwon Harris.

Officers used his fingerprints to confirm his identity as well as his previous book-in photos. It was later found that Harris had multiple warrants out for his arrest.

Harris was convicted in 2012 for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He was sentenced to eight years in prison and was listed on parole until Feb. 11, 2020.

He was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, failure to identify as a fugitive from justice, theft and criminal mischief.

Harris was transported to the Bell County Jail. His bond is set at $120,500.
