The 17th Annual Day of Caring will be held this Friday, Oct. 12. The United Way of Central Texas will be hosting the event as volunteers will participate in service projects throughout the community.

Nearly 400 volunteers will be donating their time. From painting to landscaping to reading to children United Way volunteers will take on a variety of service projects throughout Central Texas.

There will be a kick-off breakfast that morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Ralph Wilson Youth Club (1515 S. 25 St., Temple.) The services will then follow at 8:30.

“Day of Caring is an opportunity for our community to come together and address the issues that matter most to them,” said Veshell Greene Director of Public Relations at United Way of Central Texas. “Day of Caring mirrors the work that United Way of Central Texas does year-round: empowering people to affect positive change in their own backyards, and across Central Texas.”
