SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police are trying to determine who shot into a house, wounding a woman and an infant who were asleep in a bedroom.

Officers got a call just before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday about the shooting in the 4100 block of Barbara Avenue. That’s right off Greenwood Road.

Police found 20-year-old Que’Lexus Hunter and a 1-year-old girl, each with a gunshot wound to a leg.

Both were taken to Ochsner Health in Shreveport for treatment.

Police Chief Alan Crump said the two were wounded when a vehicle stopped in front of the house and someone opened fire.

A man who also was at the residence at the time of the shooting was unable to provide investigators with a description of a suspect or a motive for the shooting, police said.

Police Cpl. Angie Willhite has said that authorities do not believe the shooting was a random act.

Crime scene investigators have collected shell casings and evidence from the scene.

Authorities urge anyone with any information about the shooting to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers by calling (318) 673-7373, visiting the organization’s website, lockemup.org, or using the P3Tips app.
