A man was arrested early Tuesday morning after police say he stole a vehicle and led police on a high-speed chase.
Police said the pursuit started around 2 a.m. when they responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. A Groesbeck officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver sped away.
Police said the vehicle was driving at speeds in excess of 95 miles per hour.
The driver surrendered to police on State Highway 14, just north of Thornton. He was taken into custody and charged with unauthorized use of motor vehicle and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.
No one was injured in the chase and the vehicle was returned to its owner.
