Storm chances increasing to start the work week

Posted

We'll be in between weather systems to start your work week. Monday will feature more cloud cover, and high temperatures will warm into the mid and upper 80s. We do have a 40 percent chance for scattered showers and storms with the heaviest rain expected farther west.

A line of showers and storms is expected to form out in West Texas overnight Monday and into Tuesday. This line should quickly push east, bringing us more significant rain and storm chances for Tuesday. Temperatures will dip into the low and mid-80s. Lingering showers will be possible Wednesday, but most of us will be dry. At the moment, it looks like the most significant threat will be in north and west Texas, but heavy rain will be possible along with a damaging wind threat.

Our long-range models are pointing to a cold front arriving next weekend. This could really bring some significantly cooler air to Central Texas, so keep your fingers crossed that this pattern holds!
