Two people were taken to the hospital after being exposed to a white powdery substance, the Houston Fire Department said. According to ABC13, the substance was sent to Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign office.

The office, located on the ninth floor of the Phoenix Tower in Houston, was evacuated after the substance was found on Tuesday. As of 12:40 p.m., the evacuation was lifted.

Houston Fire Department said a hazmat crew responded to the scene to determine the nature of the substance. All tests were negative for any hazardous substance.

Also on Tuesday morning, ricin was detected in a piece of mail sent to the Pentagon. It was reported the mail never made it inside the building.
