After two years of preparation and painting, Tennyson Middle School in Waco has a few colorful hallways.

More than 630 lockers have been painted and designed to look like the spine of many popular books.

Back in 2016, choir director Joy Marshall found the idea in an article online and was immediately inspired.

Marshall brought the idea up to school officials and they hopped on board.

Many companies and organizations stepped in to help, such as companies and organizations like Home Depot, National Charity League, Baylor University and more.

The lockers are designed so that students could discover new books and expand their reading habits.

Not all of the books painted on the lockers are available in the library. The school gave the opportunity for other to purchase books that are displayed on the lockers, but not yet in the library.

Marshall has seen more interest in literacy by students and hopes more will keep growing.
