Two suspects were arrested after a manhunt started in Waco on Thursday afternoon.

The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office said deputies started pursuing a suspect who drove a vehicle known to them around 3:30 p.m. Two men wanted on felony warrants left their car running on a driveway on Cascade Drive and fled on foot into the woods.

Sheriff Parnell McNamara said deputies set up a perimeter near the Sendero Springs subdivision and deployed a helicopter to assist with the search. The McLennan County Constable's Office and K-9 units from Waco Police assisted in the manhunt.

"They are very desperate. They pose a threat to the community, to good citizens in this neighborhood, to children. Many things can go wrong when you have people like this running loose," McNamara said.

Angel Perales Jr., 29, and Christopher Turner, 32, were arrested.

Perales had a bond forfeiture for possession of cocaine out of McLennan County. He also has one parole violation for Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and a federal probation violation from the U.S. Marshals Office.

Turner was wanted by U.S. Marshals for possession of cocaine. He also had a warrant for possession of a dangerous drug in McLennan County.

The suspects were caught around 7 p.m.

Waco and Robinson police departments also responded to the scene.
