The Waco Convention and Visitors Bureau teamed up with singer Holly Tucker and volunteers from all around Waco to film a video highlighting the city. A portion of Austin Avenue in front of the Waco Hippodrome was closed as filming occurred.
City Council member Andrea Barefield believes the film is a great way to showcase the people and places of Waco. “We get 30,000 visitors a week in this city plus, but it’s the 130,000 that live here each and every day that can be the best ambassadors and can be the best advocates for our city.”
The video incorporates the pineapple, which is a symbol of hospitality. There are images of pineapples all over Waco including the Waco Foundation Fountain in downtown.
