A man is in custody after police said he took them on a short pursuit after a 911 robbery call on Monday.

According to Killeen police, at 4:56 p.m. officers responded to a 911 call of a robbery at the Good Time Smoke Shop on the 4200 block of E. Stan Schlueter Loop. When officers arrived, they were told a man entered the business and made demands.

The suspect and the employees entered a verbal altercation, then the man fled the store in a silver Dodge Ram pickup.

Officers located the suspect in the vehicle and attempted to stop him, but he refused to comply. He led officers on a short pursuit towards Nolanville.

He then drove off the road and officers were able to take him into custody.
