Five inmates and five jail employees were treated for heat-related incidents across Texas during the end of July.

The month of July was so hot that for seven days in a row, parts of Central Texas experienced record-breaking heat.

Officials with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said one employee and one inmate at the Dr. Lane Murrary Unit in Coryell County were treated for minor heat-related injuries on July 22 and July 24. They were each treated at the infirmary with non-invasive procedures and released.
