The Waco Police Department's newest K-9 helped officers seize about 61 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Tuesday night.

Waco police said when the officer stopped the car in the 700 block of Ruby Avenue, the K-9 alerted the officer of possible drugs in the vehicle.

The officer searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine hidden inside.

The driver, 41-year-old Jesus Lopez, was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
