The Copperas Cove Fire Department is asking for residents to hold onto their donations as crews battle a 5,000-acre fire in Coryell County.
The department said Saturday that donations from concerned citizens have begun to overwhelm the fire department and base camp.
Citizens who wish to donate are asked to hold off until the department issues a request.
As of Saturday afternoon, the fire was still burning and only 25 percent contained.
