A Central Texas man was arrested and charged after police say he broke into a home in June.

According to the affidavit, Temple Police responded to a burglary in process at the 1400 block of Adams Avenue. The victim said she woke up to a loud bang on the door, she went to see what the noise was and found Quincy Johnson in her home. He told the victim he was there to protect her.

Johnson then grabbed the victim and forced her into the bedroom, threatening her. The victim fought back and was pushed to the floor.

The victim grabbed Johnson’s necklace and asked him if he believed in Jesus. Johnson stopped the assault, and the victim went to her neighbor’s residence and called 911, according to the affidavit.

When officers arrived, they found Johnson still in the home with a sledgehammer next to him.

Johnson was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony.

He is held at the Bell County Jail. His bond is set at $37,500.
