A Central Texas police department is joining forces with the Texas Department of Public Safety to fight violent crime in the area.
Killeen police said it was joining with DPS to target violent crime in the city.
The Bell County Violent Crime Task Force, organized by DPS, was sent to Killeen to assist with crime-fighting efforts.
Killeen police said that over 800 traffic stops were conducted, several guns and narcotics were recovered and over 100 arrests were made.
The operation remains ongoing.
