Man indicted for manslaughter after 18-year-old dies in shooting

A man who was arrested in connection to the death of an 18-year-old has now been charged with manslaughter by the Bell County District Attorney's office.

Elijah Williams, 19, was indicted for manslaughter on Wednesday. 

Williams was arrested in June after Mikhail Jawan Ellis was found suffering from a gunshot wound in Temple.

Police were called to the 1500 block of East Calhoun Avenue for a report of a shooting in June when they found Ellis.

Ellis was taken to Baylor Scott & White in Temple where he died. 

An autopsy was ordered.

The Temple police’s Criminal Investigation Division was investigating the case.
