The Central Texas College Board of Trustees voted to no longer offer programming of KNCT-TV on Tuesday.

According to the CTC, during its June workshop, they announced to cease KNCT-TV programming on August 31.

CTC will continue to offer local programming through streaming and social media outlets. With the KNCT-TV’s remaining time on air, they will provide information on how viewers can receive PBS programming through on-air announcements and on their website.

The repacking was a result of the broadcast spectrum incentive auction last year. It forced the FCC to repack the television band by assigning stations to channels 14-35. KNCT, on channel 46, will move to channel 17 by March 2020, according to the CTC.

The $4.4 million cost to repack was the deciding factor in the CTC’s Board of Trustees’ decision not to repack.
