Man indicted by grand jury on intoxication manslaughter

A man has been indicted by grand jury on intoxication manslaughter, according to the Brazos County Jail.  

Juan Fernando Hernandez was indicted for an accident involving a death on March 11.

According to the probable cause statement, Hernandez fled the scene of an accident where one woman died. 

The victim was identified as Mayte Carrizales-Gaitan. 

The statement said the accident happened on the 3000 block of E. SH 21 in Bryan. 

Witness told officials a white Nissan Sentra was heading eastbound. The white Chevrolet Trailblazer was behind the Nissan in the outside lane traveling at a high rate of speed. 

Witnesses told police the Chevrolet rear-ended the Nissan causing damages to both cars.  

A witness was able to get the suspect's vehicle license plate number. 

Hernandez is on U.S. immigration hold.
