Two people were arrested for fleeing police after a burglary this afternoon.

The Woodway Police Department received the call around 1 p.m. of a burglary of a vehicle at South Bosque Elementary School.

Officers said the victim had just left a bank.

Officers suspected the suspect was casing the cars coming from the banks.

Police then went to Extraco Bank where the victim had come from.

Officers pulled into the bank and a car matching the suspect's vehicle description fled immediately.

Officers pursued the vehicle down Highway 84 to Texas Central Parkway.

The vehicle then exited the highway hitting another vehicle from behind causing it to roll over.

The suspect fled through a field towards Old Hewitt Dr.

Officers arrested 27-year-old Robert Simmons of Houston for evading arrest, aggravated assault and evading on foot.

They also arrested the passenger identified as 20-year-old Reginald Lewis of Houston for evading on foot.
