A spokesperson for Moore's Water System said petroleum products were found in water in Axtell.

They are advising not to boil or freeze water for any purpose.

They suggest bottled water should be used until further notice.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is investigating the situation.

Customers of Moore’s Water System contacted the TCEQ Waco Region Office to report concerns about their drinking water.

Following a preliminary assessment, the TCEQ advised the system to issue a “Do Not Drink or Use for Any Purpose Notice” to all water customers.

TCEQ hand delivered the notice to customers.

TCEQ personnel have been working non-stop with the system, residents, contractors and others to respond to this situation since May 2.

TCEQ is providing bottled water for customers which can be picked up at Blackjack Circle within the subdivision at any time over the weekend.

Customers who are physically unable to pick up bottled water are advised to call Moore’s Water System directly at (254) 315-8818 to have it delivered to their residence.
