Texas A&M was selected to the 2018 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Austin Regional, held at the University of Texas Golf Club on May 7-9. The Aggies have reached the NCAA Regionals in each of the past 18 seasons.

“It is an honor any time you are selected to NCAA Regionals,” said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. “We are excited to be playing down the road in our home state, on a golf course that plays well to our strengths.”

The Aggies were an at-large selection, earning the No. 10 seed in the Austin Region. Texas A&M is one of 18 teams, along with six individuals, selected to play the par 72 / 6,341-yard course for the 54-hole, three-day tournament. The Aggies are one of 17 schools to be selected to NCAA Regionals in each of the last 18 seasons.

The top six team finishers, and top three individuals not on an advancing team, continue on to the NCAA Championships, held from May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. Texas A&M has advanced to the NCAA Championships in nine of the past 14 seasons, and six of 10 seasons in the Trelle McCombs era.

The NCAA Championship format features the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on those teams after 54 holes playing a final round of stroke play on Monday. After 72 holes of competition, the top eight teams will square off in a match-play format to determine a national champion. The final three days of the championship will be televised live by the Golf Channel.
