Baylor equestrian closed out its 2018 season on day two of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Event Championships, with the horsemanship squad posting a dominant 4-0 win over Texas A&M before falling in the semifinal round to Auburn on a 2-2 decision on Friday evening at the Extraco Events Center.

The reining squad got the day started, dropping a 3-1 decision to Auburn.

Charlotte Green collected her point in her final reining ride of her collegiate career.

Turning to horsemanship in the afternoon, the ladies rolled over Texas A&M, crushing the Aggies on a 4-0 decision.

Charlotte Green, Katie Davis, Abbi Demel, and Kaylee Mellott all took their points, led by Green’s 151.5, which was the second-highest score among the 32 riders in the quarterfinal round.

Closing the day in a semifinal matchup with Auburn, the Bears rallied to clinch the final two points, but would fall by just 1.5 points on raw scores, 581.5-580.

Kaylee Mellott and Charlotte Green collected their points, but the raw score spread was too much for the Bears to come out with the win.
