CORSICANA, TX - For a week, the Navarro College has been working without gas due to a leak that was discovered on Monday, Dec. 11. As soon as the college contacted Atmos Energy about the leak, the company turned off the gas supply for the campus for safety reasons.

Dr. Harold Housley, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Operations, responded to The Daily Sun with more information concerning what is being done to correct the issue.

“A licensed local contract plumber was called in to assist with the repair,” Housley said. The leak was located in an underground pipe around the same area people reported smelling gas, and was repaired by the contractor. However, a pressure test on the line indicated that there may be other leaks.”
