An 18-wheeler carrying a large tank hit phone wires at an intersection in Georgetown, causing traffic backups late Monday morning.
Police said the phone wires were dragged away by the trailer of the 18-wheeler at Austin Avenue and Leander Road.
Georgetown police are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible as they work to clear the area.
