Waco police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital early Saturday morning.
The shooting happened about 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Alon convenience store on North 25th Street and West Waco Drive.
Waco Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Patrick Swanton said a man robbed the victim at gunpoint.
The victim struggled with the suspect over the gun and then ran away.
As the victim ran away, Swanton said the suspect shot at him, hitting him in the leg and chest.
The victim was taken to Scott & White Medical Center Hillcrest. It's unclear how he's doing.
The suspect was wearing a dark shirt and jeans. He ran from the scene and has not been arrested, Swanton said.
