Baylor Bears top USC, advancing to the Sweet 16

The Baylor men's basketball team is headed to the Sweet 16 after defeating USC 82-78. Baylor makes the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the 4th time in the last 8 seasons. The last trip to the Sweet 16 for the Bears was in 2014.

Johnathan Motley led the team in scoring, he had 19 points as well as 10 rebounds, but fouled out of the game with time remaining. Baylor got a big boost from Manu Lecomte in the final five minutes  of the game. After being scoreless for most of the game, the point guard converted a four-point play that gave the Bears a two point lead late in the game. Baylor also got help from Terry Maston, who scored 19 points for the 2nd straight game, and King McClure, who made 5 of 7 three-point field goals.

The Bears will play in the East Regional semifinal on Friday in New York City. The Bears will face South Carolina on Friday at 6:29 CST.
