The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s golf team dropped one spot and is now ranked #4 in the nation in the Bushnell Golfweek NCAA Division III Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The UMHB men totaled 348 points and took two first-place votes in balloting of 17 head coaches from across the country after ranking #3 in the country in the three previous polls. Huntingdon College held down the top spot in this week’s poll with 13 first-place votes and 415 total points. The Cru is joined in the top 10 by two other American Southwest Conference programs. U.T.-Tyler is once again ranked 2nd with 392 total points and the other two first-place votes. Concordia Texas is in eighth place with 305 points. Schreiner University and Trinity University are also receiving votes to put five Texas programs as receiving mention in this week’s poll. Rhodes College is third this week with 366 total points. The UMHB men are ranked #3 nationally in the Golfstat adjusted scoring rankings.
“I am extremely proud of our entire team and their work so far this semester,” Cru head coach Jordan Cox said. “Playing without an All-America performer in the line-up in your first event of the semester adds some extra pressure for everyone. This week’s T1 against two other very highly nationally ranked conference foes was a terrific rebound. We are looking forward to our remaining regular schedule building up to ASC championship”
The UMHB men are coming off a tie for first place with U.T. Tyler at the Schreiner Spring Shootout earlier this week. The Cru returns to play with a one-day match against Concordia Texas in Austin on March 20th.
