The No. 13 Baylor women’s tennis team (10-2) brings a three-match win streak on the road on Monday, March 6, to challenge Tulsa (11-4). First serve is set for 5 p.m. (CT).

The Lady Bears added three wins over three days to their record after defeating Incarnate Word, 6-1, Old Dominion, 4-0, and No. 21 UCLA, 4-3, at home. With those victories, Baylor has remained undefeated (9-0) at home.

“We have been steadily improving all season,” head coach Joey Scrivano said. “The key for us is to stick with the fundamentals and focus on our strengths. Competing again on the road this week will give us more experience that will help us further down the line.”

Baylor is 2-2 against ranked opponents and continues to boast a pair of ranked singles in No. 14 Blair Shankle and No. 105 Rhiann Newborn as well as No. 18 doubles duo Shankle and Elizabeth Profit.

The Lady Bears lead Tulsa, 5-1, in the all-time series, but fell in the most recent matchup, 4-1, on Jan. 30, 2016 in Tulsa, Okla.

The Hurricane opened the 2017 season with four consecutive wins, twice defeating Oral Roberts and Arkansas Pine Bluff, before competing in the ITA Kickoff Weekend. In the tournament, Tulsa dropped its first match against then-ranked No. 25 Northwestern, 3-4,  before notching a 4-1 victory over William and Mary. The Hurricane added wins over North Texas, 4-2, Sam Houston State, 7-0, Middle Tennessee, 6-1, Oklahoma, 4-1, Utah, 4-0, and Purdue, 6-1, to their resume.

Following Monday’s match, the Lady Bears continue their road swing at Oklahoma State and Oklahoma on Thursday, March 9 and Friday, March 10, respectively. First serve for both dual matches is set for 5 p.m.
