The City of West Fire Department is asking residents that live in gated homes or in piped fencing homes to purchase a Knox Box key.
First responders cannot access homes with electronic gates without the gate code, and therefore not assist on emergency calls.
The Knox Box program key cost about $200. You must consult with your key manufacturer to verify compatibility.
