The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football program will have its second chance to win the first national title in program history when the Cru takes on Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Stagg Bowl XLIV Friday night in Salem. UMHB will take on the Titans in a 6:00 PM Central Time kickoff with both programs looking to win their first national title.
The Cru is playing in the Stagg Bowl for the second time after also advancing to the national title game in 2004. UMHB is 14-0 going into Friday night and toppled defending national champion Mount Union 14-12 in the Semifinals last Saturday in Belton. The Cru has already set a new school and conference record for victories in a season, but none of those 14 wins could match the accomplishment of getting to 15-0 and winning that elusive national championship.
