The McLennan Highlanders closed put the fall semester portion of their schedule with a 109-66 win over the Lone Star College-Tomball Timberwolves. The win gives the Highlanders an overall record of 15-0 going into the holiday break.
The game was close through the first half with McLennan holding the 50-42 lead. The Highlanders poured it on in the second half, outscoring the Timberwolves 59-24.
Shannon Bogues led the Highlanders with 34 points and Derrick Farquharson added 23. Daniel Pinho Severo and Fred Jackson scored 12 points each, and Hayden Hunter added 10. Pinho Severo pulled down 11 rebounds to record the double-double.
The Highlanders return to action on Dec. 30, hosting Angelina at 6 p.m.
