The Waco Police Department K9 Unit received three new bullet and stab protective vests thanks to a charitable donation.
The K9s who received the vests are named Hondo, Viper and Kempi.
The donation was in the amount of $65,825 from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s,Inc.
The funds were raised through a nationwide effort to help a retired officer keep his K9 partner, Ajax, upon retirement.
