Belton ISD said all campuses are no longer in lockdown and classes will resume as normal.
Belton ISD said on their Facebook page that Belton High School and Bhs9 were on a hard lockdown to facilitate an ongoing investigation Thursday morning.
They added that Sparta elementary was on a soft lockdown.
The Belton Police Department said the lockdown was initiated following a threat of a firearm at the 9th grade center.
No arrests have been made, and no gun was found.
The district released a statement to parents about the incident stating that the investigation has now moved onto finding the person who made the call.
The caller could face serious consequences.
