Balloon release to be held on anniversary of Marlin police chief's death

The Marlin Police Department will hold a balloon release Thursday evening in memory of fallen police chief Darrell Allen.

Allen was shot while working as security for a club in Temple on Nov. 1, 2015. He died from his injuries at the hospital on Nov. 10.

The balloon release will take place at 6 p.m. at the Lucille Williams Pavilion on the corner of Live Oak Street and Commerce Street in Marlin.

You may bring your own blue, black, or white balloons, or you can purchase them for $1 at the event location.
