A 26-year-old woman accused of killing a two year-old boy on Saturday afternoon has been charged with murder.
Shayla Cyriece Dearinge who is in custody has a $1 million bond and will be transferred to the Bell County Jail on Monday afternoon.
According to Killeen Police, Dearinge and the mother of the victim were arguing in the 4600 block of Golden Gate Drive around 2:30 p.m. when Dearinge fired a gun in the direction of the mother and the toddler.
The child was shot and taken to Metroplex Hospital by his mother and then airlifted to McLane's Children's Hospital in Temple. He died from his injuries just before 5 p.m. The name of the boy has not been released.
