Baylor Women’s Golf Travels to Longhorn Invitational

Baylor women’s golf is headed to the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, which will be played Monday and Tuesday at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament features two rounds on Monday and a final round Tuesday, all of which are shotgun starts. Baylor, which is ranked No. 30 nationally in the latest Golfstat rankings, is part of a 14-team field that includes four top-25 ranked teams.

No. 30 BU will be joined by No. 9 Miami (Fla.), No. 14 Texas, No. 15 Kent State, No. 20 SMU, No. 33 Texas Tech, No. 42 Notre Dame, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Florida, Texas State, Tulane, Tulsa and UNLV.

Baylor’s lineup features sophomore Maria Vesga in the No. 1 spot, followed by junior Amy Lee, sophomore Dylan Kim, freshman Evelyn Arguelles and senior Maggie Beth Byers. All five players are ranked among the nation’s top 200 individuals in the latest Golfweek rankings, with Lee leading the way at No. 80. Vesga is ranked No. 151, Byers is No. 167, Kim is No. 180 and Arguelles is No. 182.

Monday’s first round begins at 8:30 a.m. CT. Vesga will begin from the fifth tee, Lee will start from No. 6, Kim and Arguelles will tee off on No. 7 and Byers will begin her round on No. 8. BU players are paired with golfers from SMU and Notre Dame. The second round will begin immediately after the conclusion of round one, and Tuesday’s final round is scheduled for an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.
