Women’s XC Readies For Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational

In its final meet before the Big 12 Championship, the Baylor women’s cross country squad will run at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Friday in Madison, Wis.

The Lady Bears, ranked No. 21 nationally and No. 3 in the South Central region, will have 10 runners in action at the eighth-annual event that has become one of the nation’s premier collegiate meets.

The women’s 6,000-meter race at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course is slated to start at 12:30 p.m. The field is made up of 31 teams with 17 of those being ranked in the USTFCCCA top 30, including five of the top 10 and 11 of the top 20. 

The athletes scheduled to be in action for the Lady Bears are Alison Andrews-Paul, Lindsey Bradley, Alex Davis, Kathryn Foreman, Hana Marsheck, Maggie Montoya, Gabby Satterlee, Peyton Thomas and Anna West.

Last year at the Wisconsin meet, the Bears placed 30th with Montoya finishing 11th individually in a time of 19:56.0.

This group of runners last competed at the Notre Dame Invitational, placing fifth, on Sept. 30.

Following the meet in Wisconsin, the men’s and women’s teams will take next week off, before racing at the Big 12 Cross Country Championship, Oct. 29, in Lubbock, Texas.
