MCC Women's Intercollegiate Final Results

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team could not hold its place on the final day and slipped two spots to finish in sixth place at the MCC Women’s Intercollegiate Monday in Alabama. The Cru was in fourth place, nine strokes off the team lead going into the final day.

UMHB finished with a 315-322=637 to finish in sixth place, just one stroke out of the top five in the team standings. Rhodes College ran away with the title after posting 306-297=603 to finish 17 shots clear of tournament host Huntingdon College’s second place total of 311-309=620. Berry College finished third with a 317-307=624, Trinity University fired a 314-320=634 for fourth place and Sewanee finished in fifth place, one shot ahead of the Cru with a 317-319=636. There was a 12-team field competing in the tournament.

Tori Gatling was the top individual finisher for UMHB after tying for fourth place with a 78-76=154. McKenna Ralston tied for 16th place after carding a 77-80=157, Aubrey Starnes fired an 81-81=162 to tie for 29th place, Olivia Robinson recorded a 79-84=163 to tie for 35th place, Emily Ming shot 81-83=164 to tie for 37th place and Cassidy Rawls tied for 46th place with an 85-83=168. McKenzie Cohen of Rhodes College won the individual title after shooting 71-73=144.

The two-day, 36-hole event was played on a par-73, 5,821-yard layout at Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama. The UMHB women will return to action with the Division III Golfweek Fall Preview October 9-11. That tournament will be played at Baytowne Golf Course in Destin, Florida.
