Baylor men’s tennis senior Max Tchoutakian will continue his fall season at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships Friday through Sunday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
The Marseille, France, native will be one of 170 singles players at the 49th-annual event hosted by the University of Georgia. In singles action, Tchoutakian is 1-1 on the young season, after splitting a pair of matches against collegiate foes at last weekend’s Napa Valley Tennis Classic. That split included an upset win over 48th-ranked Logan Smith of USC and a loss to No. 13 Florian Lakat of Cal.
Tchoutakian, ranked No. 54 in the preseason ITA singles listings, is BU’s most experienced player. He is coming off a junior campaign in which he went 19-10 overall in singles action.
The field at the Southern Intercollegiate will be divided into three singles divisions. Play is scheduled to begin Friday at 8 a.m. with Division I singles matches at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. Draws have not been finalized yet, but will be sent out and posted on GeorgiaDogs.com when they have been completed.
