Baylor men’s tennis players Jimmy Bendeck and Bjoern Petersen both picked up singles wins Saturday at the Napa Valley Tennis Classic at the Meadowood Napa Valley Resort.
Bendeck stayed perfect at the event in singles play with a 7-5, 7-5 triumph over USTA Junior Andrew Fenty.
Garnering his first win at the event, Petersen downed USTA Junior Axel Nefve, 6-1, 6-2.
Baylor’s two other singles players both lost their matches on Saturday with Bjoern Frantzen dropping a 6-4, 6-2 decision to USTA Junior Michael Heller and 54th-ranked Max Tchoutakian suffering a 6-2, 6-4 setback to USTA Junior Lukas Grief.
All of the singles matches do not count towards collegiate rankings or records.
In doubles, Bendeck and Petersen downed USTA Juniors Christian Alshon and Nefve, 7-5, while Frantzen and Tchoutakian lost to Cal’s Bergevi and Lakat, 6-4.

On the final day of the Napa Valley Tennis Classic, each Bear will play one singles match with Bendeck looking to go 3-0 and win his bracket and get into the 3 p.m. CT shootout between the eight bracket winners. Singles action starts at 10 a.m. CT.
