For the second straight week, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor quarterback Blake Jackson has been named American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week. This time, he is being honored for his performance in the Cru’s 56-21 victory over Texas Lutheran University.
Jackson, a senior from Dobie High School, was 19-33 passing and set new career highs with 255 yards and three touchdowns through the air. He also ran for 119 yards on 12 carries. Jackson led a UMHB offense that rolled up 56 points for the second straight week and posted 571 yards of total offense against the Bulldogs.
The Cru is now 2-0 to start the season following the win over TLU. UMHB will return to action with a 6:00 PM home game against 3rd-ranked Linfield College this Saturday. The Wildcats (1-0) opened their season with a 48-14 victory over Chapman University on Saturday.
