– The Baylor Tennis Program will offer 17 sessions of Cub Tennis in its fourth season. The youth clinic, offered to children under the age of 11, provides the opportunity to learn basic tennis skills from Baylor players and staff.
“The Baylor Cub Tennis program has been a very successful addition to our home events over the past three years,” head coach Joey Scrivano said. “Baylor fans and families have a great opportunity to interact with each other, while their kids get to be active and have fun learning a sport that they can play for a lifetime.”
The clinics will be held on select fall dates and one hour prior to home matches in the spring dual-match season. Kids in attendance at eight or more sessions are eligible to win a free Babolat tennis racket, valued at $30.
“Our goal with this program is to provide a consistent opportunity for kids in the community to have some fun, make friends and build skills for tennis,” Scrivano added.
Tennis equipment will be provided to children in attendance, but athletic wear and tennis shoes are required to participate. All sessions will be at the Hurd Tennis Center, unless weather forces action to the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
The Bears look forward to interacting with children in the community and sharing their love for tennis through Baylor Cub Tennis. Last year, the clinics averaged 25 children per session.
