Lake Waco drowning victim identified

The teen that drowned in Lake Waco Saturday has been identified. 

According to Waco Police, Christopher Charleston, 19, drowned near Speegleville Park around 5:40 p.m Saturday. 

Charleston and two friends were swimming from a peninsula and were attempting to swim to a buoy when Charleston began to struggle and went under. 

"One of the those two that could tried to help the third friend [Charleston], started to pull the other friend down and he had to let him go," Sgt. Patrick Swanton said. 

The other men are unharmed. 

Waco Police, Waco Fire Department, Texas Game Wardens, and Woodway Dive Team assisted in body recovery.
