The six-time defending league champion Baylor Lady Bears open Big 12 Conference action against Kansas State on Dec. 29, 2016, inside the Ferrell Center. The team, which has amassed a 102-7 regular season conference record in the last four seasons, will play nine home and nine away Big 12 contests.

Tip times and television information will be announced at a later date. Dates are subject to change to meet possible television broadcast requests.

For the sixth consecutive season, the Big 12 Conference schedule features a double round robin format consisting of 18 games with teams playing one another twice. Teams that finish with the highest winning percentage in league contests will be crowned the Big 12 regular season champion.

The 2017 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship will be held at Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena for the fifth time (2007, 2009, 2014, 2016). The women’s championship will remain in Oklahoma City through the 2019 season.

First round matchups will be played on Friday, March 3, followed by quarterfinals on Saturday, March 4, and semifinals on Sunday, March 5. The final is set for Monday, March 6, the winner of which will receive the Big 12’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship. Baylor has won the last six Big 12 tournament titles, earning its eighth overall in 2015-16.

The Big 12 Conference will also host the 2017 Women’s Final Four at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Semifinals are scheduled for Friday, March 31, and the national championship game will be played on Sunday, April 2.

Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey returns four starters, including two-time All-American Nina Davis, All-American Alexis Jones, Beatrice Mompremier, and Kristy Wallace, and 10 letterwinners from last season’s 36-2 squad. The Lady Bears advanced to the Elite Eight after hoisting Big 12 regular season and tournament trophies. BU returns 87 percent of its points and 72 percent of its rebounds from last season.

Mulkey also welcomes the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class to the roster, comprised of 2016 WBCA High School Player of the Year and All-American Lauren Cox, All-American Natalie Chou, and local talent Calveion ‘Juicy’ Landrum. All three recruits hail from the state of Texas.
