A 29-year-old man was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman he knew earlier this year.
The victim told police Matthew Canuel committed the crime at a North Waco home on May 1.
The woman filed the report of the assault at a local hospital.
The woman told police that she had known Canuel for a year.
She told police that she needed a place to live and Canuel offered to rent her a room at his residence.
The woman had moved into Canuel's home in April.
On Wednesday afternoon, Canuel remained at the McLennan County Jail.
