Hundreds of people and officers from several agencies gathered Friday morning to remember Bell County Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Foster.
A private funeral service for Foster was held at the First Methodist Church of Belton at 11 a.m.
Foster died after he fell off a boat while fishing over the weekend.
Game Wardens sent dive teams, extra boats and personnel to help find Foster.
He was eventually found under 26 feet of water by a helicopter.
A visitation was held Thursday night at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Because Foster didn't die in the line of duty a full police funeral service was not held.
The family wanted the ceremony to be private so they denied a police escort but welcomed Fosters brother's in blue.
An honor guard was posted at the church until the start of the service.
