Saturday multiple agencies broke up an illegal cockfight involving more than 200 roosters.
Authorities from the Lampasas Sheriff’s office, Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers, Highway Patrol CID, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Game wardens executed a search warrant at Lampasas County road 3010 just before 1:00 p.m. yesterday.
Officials seized 220 fighting game cocks, two fighting rings, and fighting paraphernalia from the scene.
The owner of the property, Hector Hernandez, was arrested for cock fighting.
Lampasas Sheriff’s said additional charges may be pending from the Lampasas County Attorney’s Office.
