Police: Babysitter hadn't seen child hit by car since 1 a.m.

Officers said that the toddler that died Sunday morning when hit by a car had been missing since 1 a.m.

During their investigation, they learned that the child had been with a babysitter while his parents were out. The babysitter admitted the last time she saw the child was at 1 a.m.

The accident was called into the police department at 2:09 a.m.

Temple Fire and Scott and White EMS responded to 3550 block of South General Bruce Drive after reports the child had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers at the scene identified the victim as the 2-year-old male by photos obtained earlier of the missing child. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
